Title: Help! My keinett launcher has a problem!
Post by: XDLOL on May 21, 2014, 02:31:31 PM
Let's jump to the main part of this topic.

When I open my launcher (Keinett of course) and click the "Edit Profile" button and I tried to change the version of my minecraft, but all I can see there is BLANK so I tried to click the blank and I click the save profile button and I saw on the lower-right side of the launcher is:

Welcome, XDLOL
Loading versions...
     Log Out

Help me!!! It keeps on loading versions but nothing will really happen! Now I can't play the newest 1.8 snapshot :( Please help

Usually the easiest thing is to just reinstall it. As with most problems with Minecraft. :P

What will I reinstall? The launcher or the game?

My suggestion is to back up your .minecraft folder, or at least the parts you want to keep such as mods, saves, resource packs, etc. What I did was just rename the .minecraft folder to something different like ".minecraft.bak".

Then just re-install the launcher and let it download the game all over again. It's easy, takes only a few minutes, and solves almost any problem you might have with MC. :)

In file explorer do %appdata%
Find .minecraft
Copy the saves folder to your desktop
Now go back and delete the whole .minecrat folder
Now delete any keinett launchers you have
Download a new keinett launcher
Run the Windows version
Run minecraft once and then exit game
Open up file explorer again
Find .minecraft, open it
Cut the previously saved data that is inside "saves" folder
Paste in the new saves folder that will appear in the.minecraft folder once you run the game once,
Now all your private worlds are saved
